Who we are

The story of Tanticchia

Tanticchia means "a little" in Sicilian. We chose this name to honor our Palermitan family's roots and because it has a unique, slightly funny sound, don't you think? Tanticchia is an independent clothing brand that aims to integrate the principles of sustainability, combining economic, environmental, and social aspects, to offer you a new way to dress consciously. Through modular clothing, you can own less, yet fully utilize what you have, on different occasions, in all seasons.
Tanticchia was born from the mind and hands of Federica, an ecodesigner passionate about responsible fashion. After graduating in Ecodesign at the Polytechnic University of Turin, a haute couture course in Cannes, and a traumatic awakening from her consumerist torpor, Federica enrolled in the Master's program in Product Sustainability Management, which focused specifically on the fashion supply chain. It was during this program that the idea for Tanticchia began to timidly germinate. After many uncertainties, doubts, steps forward and steps back, Federica plucked up the courage and threw herself headlong into this new adventure. And so Tanticchia was born: to make your wardrobe a little more ethical.

A Tanticchia of care

Every aspect of our products is carefully chosen and designed. From the selection of materials to the design of the garments, right down to the packaging and shipping, everything is carefully scrutinized by Federica.

A Tanticchia slow

Unconstrained by trends and seasons, Tanticchia produces exclusively made to order, reducing its impact on the planet. We want to continue a profitable business, carefully producing only what is required.

A Tanticchia of transparency

Where was the garment produced? Where does the fabric come from? At Tanticchia, we do everything we can to ensure all this data is accessible. On each label, a QR code links to a page with all the information needed to make an informed purchase.

A Tanticchia more ethical

Even producing only made to order consumes resources and has a negative impact on the planet. Tanticchia collaborates with social tailoring workshops in Turin, which offer concrete and qualified work to vulnerable people.

A Tanticchia of circularity

The clothes we buy should last a long time. That's why we offer upcycling and resale services, as well as kits to customize your garments. When an item is too damaged, we take it back to give it a new of life.

A Tanticchia less waste

Overproduction is a problem; we only produce made to order (pre-order). Furthermore, since about 15% of the fabric is wasted during the cutting process, at Tanticchia we reuse it to make labels and smaller items.
